People and Culture Manager (HR)

The purpose of the People and Culture Manager is to enhance the Company’s human resources by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices. The People and Culture Manager will be a champion of Rego Realty’s culture and core values. He/she will lend their strategic and operational expertise to the Team on all people-related matters. The People and Culture Manager will be responsible for building programs, processes and policies from scratch and/or update existing ones to enhance the employee’s journey in the Company. He/she is a true ‘people person’ with an intense passion for supporting great teams/employees and helping them grow and thrive. The People and Culture Manager will go the extra mile to ensure that everyone on the Team is happy and productive and truly believes the Team’s success is their success.


What you do:


  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention and succession planning
  • Work with managers/leadership team to identify requirements and design development opportunities to enable all team members to grow in their roles and careers
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing and hiring; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for each position
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the Company attracts and retains top talent
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Supports the Company’s staff by establishing a recruiting, testing and interviewing program, counseling managers on candidate selection, conducting and analyzing exit interviews and recommending changes
  • Prepares employees for their positions by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
  • Ensures planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees, scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances and counseling employees and supervisors
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource provincial and federal requirements, conducting investigations and maintaining records
  • Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating and recommending human resource policies and procedures
  • Responsible for compensation management/pay structure revisions including preparing pay band scales, vacation tracking, administration of benefits, record keeping and maintaining of team member files and other released documents
  • Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks
  • Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law
  • Managing the vacation program and coordination of coverage for employees and independent Realtors

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve our team members' experience. Assess current programs and propose innovative ways to improve existing ones
  • Monitor and track member engagement through to-be designed platform and develop ways to increase scores if necessary
  • Plan and organize the Company’s internal event and social calendar (off-sites, team building events, in-office events, lunch n learns, holiday parties, management retreats, etc.); manage and administer the Company’s culture/events budget
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction for all clients through the concierge program and Brokerage’s ongoing community involvement.

Experience:

  • CHRP/CHRL designation
  • Must have a minimum 3-year degree or diploma in a related field
  • Must have a minimum of 4-years of related experience
  • Must have demonstrated experience in labour relations and employee
